Kalamkari work is a work that can be used in sarees and also for many other purposes.Kalam means 'pen' kari means 'work'.Here the pen is known as 'pierced bamboo' which is used to draw on sarees.Every women would like to wear a saree that nobody has worn already, for that every women cant opt for a costlier ones that is easily available in shops. we can make this even at home, with some new and innovative ideas. kalamkari work is a ancient piece of art from andhra. Let us know how to do kalamkari work in your saree.

Things Needed

1. Piece of cloth

2.Kalamkari Batches

3.( 3-D) outliner - Sandal color

4.Kundhan stones

5. Small Mirror

6.Fabric Glue

How to Do:

Take the kalamkari batch that you need to use, apply the fabric glue on the backside of the batch. Then, stick it on the piece of cloth or whatever material you want to be get designed. Leave it for 20 minutes. After that, with the help of 3 -D outliner draw lines in that design. leave that for 1 hour. Apply glue according to your taste in that designs as dots. In that dots apply chamki, kundhan stones and normal stones. Leave this for one hair to dry. Even if you press the stone and the glue spreads, it will not be shown after it get dry's out. So.., Don't worry. you can do this even in saree pallus, saree borders, blouse and even in salwar materials. Try this out.
